What Difference can one person make in the lives of others?
A lot of people answer this question with the response of: “None, one person can not make a difference.” This was NOT the response of 7 year old Mason Wrisley. Although he is a typical little boy who loves snakes, lizards and spending time with friends; he is a child with a huge heart and passion for others. Mason at the age of 7 decided he was going to do something to help bring safe drinking water to the children of Liberia. He chose to run a ½ marathon to raise awareness for this need. In May 2011, he finished his first ½ marathon and began to see his dream of helping others come to reality. Mason has had a huge impact on many lives by simply doing what he enjoys – Running.
What does it mean to run for the Mason and Me team?
Mason is now looking for your help. He wants to build a team of runners and walkers from all across the country who will run or walk at an event of their choosing. You do not have to participate in the same events as Mason. You are always welcome to join us if you wish but again these are events of your choosing. All we ask is that you sign up for your local or not so local running or walking event. Tell everyone you know that you are taking pledges for the Mason and Me team and let them know that you are helping Mason and Hope 2 Liberia bring safe water to Liberia, Africa. You may print out a donation/pledge form HERE. Once you have signed up for your event, please SIGN UP for the Mason & Me team. Hope 2 Liberia is a not for profit 501c3 organization. All money given is tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to Hope 2 Liberia. If you or someone that you ask to make a pledge, would like to pay online through this website you may do so by clicking the Donate button, choose the Mason & Me category. When paying online, please enter team members name in the memo section.
